Born in 1951 in Salé, near Rabat, I grew up in a city steeped in history and artistic traditions. Its music, craftsmanship and architecture nurtured my imagination, shaped my sensitivity and awakened my desire to create. 

Drawing became a necessity from an early age. In Morocco’s early years of independence, learning resources were scarce. Guided by curiosity and perseverance, I explored line, composition and light on my own, gradually developing an intuitive, self-taught approach. 

In the late 1980s, painting became a more sustained part of my life. Exploring colour, brushwork, depth and the interplay of light and shadow made every canvas a new challenge. Later, access to the Internet broadened my horizons, allowing me to discover the work and techniques of artists around the world. 

For many years, I painted privately, sharing my work only with those close to me. In 2021, I took part in my first group exhibition alongside more experienced artists. The encouraging response marked a turning point. Further exhibitions followed, strengthening my commitment to painting and to sharing my work with others. 

Today, I develop my artistic practice between Casablanca and Paris. Moving between abstraction and figuration, I explore gesture, light, movement and memory, while developing new projects and preparing future exhibitions.
